Iterated Extensions in Module Categories
Let k be an algebraically closed field, let R be an associative kalgebra, and let F = {Mα : α ∈ I} be a family of orthogonal points in Mod(R) such that EndR(Mα) ∼= k for all α ∈ I. Then Mod(F), the minimal full subcategory of Mod(R) which contains F and is closed under extensions, is a full exact Abelian sub-category of Mod(R) and a length category in the sense of Gabriel [8]. In this paper, we...
متن کاملInert Module Extensions, Multiplicatively Closed Subsets Conserving Cyclic Submodules and Factorization in Modules
Introduction Suppose that is a commutative ring with identity, is a unitary -module and is a multiplicatively closed subset of . Factorization theory in commutative rings, which has a long history, still gets the attention of many researchers. Although at first, the focus of this theory was factorization properties of elements in integral domains, in the late nineties the theory was gener...
متن کاملMODULE EXTENSIONS OVER CLASSICAL LIE SUPERALGEBRASEdward
We study certain ltrations of indecomposable injective modules over classical Lie superalgebras, applying a general approach for noetherian rings developed by Brown, Jategaonkar, Lenagan, and Warreld. To indicate the consequences of our analysis, suppose that g is a complex classical simple Lie superalgebra and that E is an indecomposable injective g-module with nonzero (and so necessarily simp...

متن کاملEffective Detection of Nonsplit Module Extensions
Let n be a positive integer, and let R be a finitely presented (but not necessarily finite dimensional) associative algebra over a computable field. We examine algorithmic tests for deciding (1) if every n-dimensional representation of R is semisimple, and (2) if there exist nonsplit extensions of non-isomorphic irreducible R-modules whose dimensions sum to no greater than n.
